Be ready.
Be on time to class. Being on time means that you are in your seat, ready to learn, when the bell starts to ring. You are not running in as the bell rings. You are not asking to go to the DECA store, to the bathroom, to your locker, or anywhere else. You need to have your materials ready, not sitting at home or in your locker.
Be responsible.
You are responsible for having all of your materials ready for class, every day. In addition, you need to be responsible for your words and actions.
Be respectful.
You are expected to be respectful to yourself, your peers, your teacher, and the objects in the classroom, including furniture. This means that you may not write on, scratch, carve, put gum under, etc., any of the furniture in the class.
All students will be issued four "Get Out of Jail Free" cards per semester. If you are late (under one minute), need to use the bathroom, or have a late assignment, you can use one of them. Any cards that you have not used will count as extra credit at the end of the semester.
"First 10, Last 10"
During the first and last 10 minutes of class, there will be no passes issued. Everyone is expected to be in class actively engaged in learning. At the end of the period, students will not stand next to the door. You are to remain seated until the bell rings.
Phones
Students are to put their phones into the cell phone cubbies next to the door.
Jobs
There are a number of jobs that students will be assigned each week. Students are expected to accomplish these jobs without whining. ;)
